Zeta Tau Alpha
"Friendships may come and go, but sisters are forever." The sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha live by this and this strong bond is what makes Zeta so special to its members. Originally founded in 1898 by nine determined and independent women in Farmville, Virgina, Zeta has grown steadily ever since to include 238 chapters nationwide. The Gamma Pi chapter, chartered at the University of Georgia in 1949, is committed to excellence and was honored as the top Zeta chapter in the nation in 2004.
Priding itself on exemplary leadership, involvement and service, Zeta is represented in a variety of campus organizations including Arch Society, UGA Cheerleading, Relay for Life, Georgia Recruitment Team, Leonard Leadership Scholars and Crossroads.
Academic achievement is also a high priority for members of Zeta. Many sisters are part of the UGA Honors Program as well as Order of Omega and other honor societies. Zeta Tau Alpha consistently maintains an excellent chapter grade point average.
Zeta's national philanthropy of Breast Cancer Education & Awareness is extremely important to the chapter. Every year the chapter hosts the Diamond Challenge Softball Tournament to raise money for this cause. The Gamma Pi chapter has raised more than $50,000 for the past three years to benefit women nationwide through programs such as Think Pink, Race for the Cure, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
The sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha are an outstanding group of women who bring their diverse strengths together to form a bond treasured by all. Zeta allows women to explore what life has to offer while giving them support and friendship that will last a lifetime.
Zeta Tau Alpha welcomes you to the University of Georgia and wishes you luck with Recruitment!
